Start the day fresh with our generous breakfast buffet with tons of locally sourced organic products from Goldegg farmers. We’re open from 7:30am to 11:00am so that early- and late-risers will both get their fill.
Our recommendation: a slice of dark Bauernbrot and an organic egg from Sigrid’s free-range chickens.
A gourmet way to end the day: Take dinner out in the garden our in our cosy restaurant. The culinary highlight of your day is served with an elegant flair: white table linen, sterling silver cutlery and a centrepiece of fresh flowers. Choose from three dinner options, meat, fish or vegetarian. Each dinner can also be served with smaller portions for those who like to eat less in the evening.
Our recommendations: Traditional Austrian beef dishes – with beef from our family farm in Bad Hofgastein.
The best our region has to offer. The origin of our food is important to us. It’s the only way we can guarantee that our seasonal dishes meet our standards of quality and freshness. It’s important to us that our food only has to travel short distances so that we can protect the environment and support local producers. That’s why we source our beef from our own organic cattle farm, our venison from our own Goldegg estate, our fresh fish from a local fishery and many other foods from local suppliers.

Specialties from the hotel’s own organic farm in the Gastein Valley. Since 2004 we’ve practiced calf sharing to keep cows and their calves together. Our Pinzgauer cattle have a barn focused on their wellbeing and can be outside 365 days a year. In the summer they graze the alpine pastures so that our farmland can be fertilized naturally. So we can indulge with a clean conscience.

APERITIF RECOMMENDATIONS
A pick-me-up from the Kost.Bar bar: A refreshing verjuice, a fruity white, or an aromatic cocktail or mocktail. Try a sundowner on our hardwood terrace, still warm from the setting sun.
Culinary delights. The quality of Austrian wines is appreciated the world over, and our wine cellar holds quite a few great bottles. On our menu, you’ll find reds and whites from Styria, Burgenland and Lower Austria.
Elisabeth, our cellar master, recommends:
The Queen of Spirits. Rowanberry brandy is distilled by Goldegg farmers from the ripe fruit of the mountain ash (Sorbus aucuparia). 50 kilogrammes of scarlet berries are needed to produce just one litre of finished schnaps. Not only do its tart spiciness and the strong bitter-almond aroma make it a delight, but it is also valued as an herbal remedy in this area of the Alps.
Our recommendations for after-dinner brandies:
Breakfast in the garden – with a view of the lake and Goldegg Castle. Take an afternoon nap under a shade tree or an aperitif on one of the wooden benches as you soak up the sun. Then have a candlelight dinner on the hotel terrace out under the stars.
